Is confidence an ability or an attitude

How would you rate your confidence level?

The easy answer is that my confidence level swings. I can be super confident when I am fully prepared for a task and dressed pretty. Let’s say I’m about to give a work presentation in front of the management, and I’ve invested considerable time and efforts into this presentation. Feeling confident of myself, I would be confident during the presentation. Of course, the feedback from the audience might influence my confidence level. However, how myself feel about it makes up the most of it. That being said, I could be very unconfident if I feel I’m quite disqualified or unprepared. So my confidence level depends, but i would still say it is relatively high, about 7.5/10.

I am not sure if there is someone who sucks at something but still is very confident of himself doing it. That would be an exceptional ability. But I would say confidence is more of something that can be acquired, like an attitude. It reinforces itself when you perform well by being confident.
